How we compare prices
What decides the order of results, and how we make money.
How results are ordered
In Find cheapest, results are ordered by price, lowest first. Where a retailer tells us the delivery cost, we add the cheapest mandatory delivery option and order by the total price. Where a retailer doesn't tell us the delivery cost, the card says "Delivery not included. Check at the retailer." Those results are ordered by item price and can only take the "Lowest price" badge if no result has delivery information.
In Track prices, results are ordered by how closely they match your search, then by price.
No retailer can pay for a higher place
Every retailer is ranked by the same rules, using only the listing itself: how well it matches your search, its condition, its price and whether it's in stock. We never use commission rates, earnings per click or any other payment to order results. Nothing in the results is placed for payment. When two results tie exactly, the order is chosen at random so no retailer always wins.
How we make money
We earn a commission when you buy through links on this site. This doesn't change the price you pay, and it doesn't change the order of the results.
Which retailers we compare
We compare the UK retailers available through the shopping networks we work with, including eBay UK and many retailers such as AO.com, Argos and Currys, and more as they join. Amazon is not included in the comparison or in price tracking. Where we can confidently match the product, we show a separate link so you can see Amazon's current price on Amazon.
New, refurbished and used
New, refurbished and used listings are shown separately — choose one with the buttons above the results. New is selected first. A listing only counts as new if the retailer says it is new and its description doesn't say it has been opened, used or graded. We leave out spares-or-repair, dummy, display and box-only listings, accessories (unless you search for one), and marketplace sellers below our minimum seller rating.
The "Lowest price" badge
The badge goes on the lowest valid total price in the condition you've chosen, among the results that match your search exactly. It always says what it's based on — "Lowest total price including delivery" or "Lowest item price (delivery not included)". It means lowest among the retailers we compare, not the lowest price anywhere. We don't award it to prices checked more than 48 hours ago, or to prices far below the typical price until we've checked them.
How often prices are checked
Search results are read live from each retailer's data when you search, and kept for about a minute. Each card shows when its price was checked. Prices for products in our catalogue are checked regularly; if a price is more than 48 hours old, we say so.
Price alerts
"Track this price" follows the item price at that retailer, in the condition shown, excluding delivery.
